Valley Tournaments


A great way to challenge your game and meet new people is by playing in the club tournaments.


2021 SINGLES: Women's and Men's Open


The Valley Club Tournaments are open to all student and adult members 18+ years


Men's Singles Open will be a Consolation draw (allowing both A & B level players to play the same event and gives those who are knocked out in the first round a chance to continue on the Consultation side (a win-win for more tennis!)


Players must arrange their own matches. First 2 rounds (including Consolation rounds) will be Pro-sets - first to 8 games (tiebreak at 7-7) - (1 hour time slot).


Following rounds will be best 2 of 3 rounds (2 hour time slot can be booked ahead of regular court bookings via email 4-DAYS prior to ... 


Draws are determined by a random draw (seeded players based on past results / decision of the Pro is considered).


Women's Open Tournament - Elimination Draw (must have a minimum of 8 players to hold the event). Rounds (pro sets or 2 of 3 sets) will be determined on how many sign-up.


Deadline to register for all tournaments will be emailed to members and posted in the club.

No cost to register. Open to all student and adult members. Players to provide new can of balls for each match except the finals. The winner(s) keep the unopened can and the loser(s) get the open can.

Please note the following important points:

1. Register online by the deadline under 'Register for Tournaments'.

2. Registration is free and open to all adult and student members.

3. The seeds for the draws are selected by the Tournament Director based on consultations with the

club Head Pro and results of last year`s tournament. The draws, once completed, are final and will not

be changed.

4. Play-by-Date Format: Players will arrange to book their own courts (through a club monitor or by emailing

1. Both players are expected to bring a new can of balls. One canister will be used for the match, the unopened can will be given to the winning player. An umpire will be assigned and tennis balls provided for all "final matches" only.

2. Warm ups are limited to 5 minutes for Pro-sets; 8 minutes for best 2 of 2 sets, no exceptions.

3. Failure to appear for a scheduled match will result in a disqualification.

4. If a player is more than 10 minutes late, they will be defaulted. The player who is there would speak to the monitor to let them know. Please be respectful of everyones time and commitment.

6. Reminder that members can not book a court or have their name in a court booking for the hour before or after a tournament match. They may use a court if it is empty at that time.

7. Men's Singles: first 2 rounds are 1 hour matches and the match is played as a Pro Set (first to 8 games), at 7-7, play a 12-point tiebreak (first to 7 points with a 2 point advantage). NOTE: 1 hour court time will be booked. If you don't finish within the hour, whoever is ahead after the hour wins the match.

8. For the women's matches and for the men's matches starting in the 3rd round, matches are best of three sets with a 12-point tiebreak (first to 7 points with a 2 points advantage). NOTE: 2 hours court time can be booked 4-days in advance. If you don't finish your match during the 2 hour, you need to book another court for another time.
